Exit the Hokkaido Expressway at the Takikawa IC, turn onto National Highway 38 toward Ashibetsu / Furano and you’ll find the head office of Itagaki. The office building has a spacious semicircular well-hole where you can see all of our products. As the space is on the same floor as our studio, on weekdays it resounds with the pleasant sounds of leatherworking. We also have a café where you can make yourself at home and enjoy a peaceful view of the rural landscape from a wooden deck.

The Itagaki Kyoto Sanjo Shop is on the Yanaginobanba Nishi-iru block, at the corner of Sanjo-dori Street. Long ago this was the main street in Kyoto.
(It’s right on the corner where there is a traffic signal.)

A 6-minute walk from Karasuma-Oike Station (Karasuma Line) of the Kyoto Municipal Subway: On Sanjo-dori Street, you’ll find a post office, a museum, old unrestored buildings and eye-catching shops. Walk east on this street until you get to the Sanjo branch of Inoda Coffee Shop. Go on a little further and you’ll find a glass-walled building on the corner. This is the Itagaki Kyoto Sanjo Shop.

From the shop, you’ll see the Meiji-style building of the Nippon Seimei insurance company across Sanjo-dori Street and the YMCA east across Yanaginobaba Street.

In Kyoto, where traditions are cherished and preserved, people treat high-quality goods with care and use them for many years.

Our studio is in Hokkaido, a land where great natural splendor remains. We’ve been making products with traditional manufacturing methods. We’d like the people of Kyoto to see, touch and get to know Itagaki’s leather products.
To those in pursuit of genuine quality, we hope our Sanjo-dori shop will be a good place to encounter Itagaki’s fine products.

The spacious shop is filled with the fragrance of vegetable-tanned leather. It offers basic care and repair services, such as the replacement of fasteners.
